04 2027 Open Trail Cabinets and Furniture

Cabinets:

The Tiffin Open Trail features black powder-coated cabinetry with composite trim (Figure 4-1), combining durability and modern aesthetics for a refined interior. The powder coating process enhances the cabinetry’s resistance to scratches, corrosion, and daily wear, ensuring long-term reliability in the demanding environment of an RV. The composite trim adds a lightweight yet sturdy element, preventing warping and moisture damage while maintaining a sleek, professional finish. Together, these materials create a stylish and functional space that requires minimal maintenance, making it an excellent choice for those seeking both luxury and practicality on the road.

Materials & Construction

•    Powder-Coated Finish – The cabinetry is coated with a black powder finish, which is applied electrostatically and cured under heat. This process creates a durable, scratch-resistant surface.

•    Composite Trim – The trim is made from lightweight composite materials, designed to resist moisture, warping, and wear over time.

Maintenance & Cleaning

•    Cleaning the Powder-Coated Surface – Use a soft cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.

•    Composite Trim Care – Wipe with a damp cloth; for tougher stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner.
Counter Tops:

The Tiffin Open Trail features solid surface countertops (Figure 4-2), designed for durability and a refined aesthetic. To further enhance functionality, it incorporates a countertop extension, providing additional workspace while integrating convenient storage for the cooktop. This intelligent design ensures an efficient and organized kitchen environment, optimizing both practicality and space within the vehicle.

Cleaning solid surface countertops is straightforward and requires minimal effort to maintain their appearance and durability. Here are some best practices:

•    Daily Cleaning: Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth to wipe down the surface, removing dirt and grease.

•    Stain Removal: For tougher stains, apply an ammonia-based cleaner, let it sit for a couple of minutes, and then wipe it away.

•    Disinfection: Occasionally, use a diluted bleach solution (5 tablespoons of bleach per gallon of water) to disinfect the surface.

•    Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use strong acidic or alkaline cleaners, as they can damage the finish.

•    Prevent Scratches: Use a microfiber cloth instead of abrasive pads and avoid cutting directly on the surface.

•    Heat Protection: Do not place hot pans or appliances directly on the countertop; use trivets or heat-resistant pads.

1.    Deploying the Faucet – Lift the faucet from its recessed position and extend it to the desired height and angle.

2.    Adjusting Water Flow – Turn the control knob to regulate water pressure and temperature.

3.    Retracting the Faucet – After use, lower the faucet back into its designated compartment for a clean, unobtrusive appearance.

The Tiffin Open Trail is designed with versatility and comfort in mind, offering two distinct seating configurations to accommodate various needs: the standard L-shaped sofa/dinette and the optional convertible jackknife sofa.

L-Shaped Sofa/Dinette (Standard)

The L-shaped sofa/dinette (Figure 4-5), serves as a multifunctional space, seamlessly transitioning between a comfortable lounge area and a functional dining setup. The L-Shape extension allows for additional seating, while the adjustable cushions provide ergonomic support. Maintaining the softness and cleanliness of your Tiffin Open Trail sofa ensures both comfort and durability.

1.    Dust & Wipe – Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove surface dust.

2.    Prepare a Cleaning Solution – Mix warm water with mild dish soap. Avoid harsh chemicals.

3.    Gentle Scrubbing – Use a cloth to clean the vinyl in circular motions.

4.    Rinse & Wipe – Dampen a clean cloth with water and wipe away soap residue.

5.    Dry Thoroughly – Pat the sofa dry with a towel to prevent moisture buildup.

6.    Treat Stains Carefully – For stubborn stains, use vinyl-safe cleaner.

7.    Avoid Harsh Products – Never use ammonia-based cleaners or abrasive scrubbers, as they can damage the vinyl.

To keep your vinyl sofa soft and supple over time, follow these maintenance tips:

1.    Regular Cleaning – Wipe down the surface with mild soap and water to prevent dirt buildup.

2.    Conditioning – Apply a vinyl conditioner occasionally to maintain flexibility and prevent cracking.

3.    Avoid Harsh Chemicals – Stay away from bleach, ammonia, and acetone, as they can dry out and damage the material.

4.    Protect from Sunlight – Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading and stiffness. Use UV-protective covers or position the sofa away from windows.

5.    Prevent Stains – Clean spills immediately to avoid discoloration and hardening of the vinyl.

6.    Temperature Control – Keep the sofa in a moderate temperature environment, as extreme heat or cold can make vinyl brittle.

Dual Twin Beds/Converts to King:

The Tiffin Open Trail is thoughtfully designed to provide maximum versatility and comfort, featuring twin beds that can seamlessly convert into a king-size bed (Figure 4-7). This adaptable sleeping arrangement allows users to customize their space based on their preferences, whether they prefer separate twin beds for individual sleeping or a spacious king bed for a more expansive rest area.

Each twin bed is equipped with built-in cup holders (Figure 4-8), adding convenience for nighttime relaxation, whether enjoying a beverage, reading, or watching television. When converting the twin beds into a king-size bed, users simply insert the three cushions stored at the rear of the coach into the center space, creating a secure mount that ensures stability and comfort. The transition is designed to be effortless, allowing for quick adjustments without complicated mechanisms.

For easy access to the king bed, a ladder is provided, which latches onto the last bed insert, ensuring a sturdy and reliable entry point. This design enhances convenience, allowing users to climb into the sleeping area with ease while maintaining a secure setup.
