10 2026 GT 1 Series Awnings, Vents, and Doors

Awning:

The Girard Systems power awning (Figure 10-1) comes standard on the TIFFIN GT Series, providing users with a reliable and convenient outdoor shade solution. Engineered for durability and ease of use, this awning enhances outdoor comfort by offering protection from the sun and light weather conditions.
Designed to withstand light rain and mild wind, the awning can be safely deployed under these conditions to enhance usability and enjoyment. However, if strong winds or heavy rain are expected, or if the awning will be left unattended for an extended period, it is highly recommended to retract it to prevent potential damage. Inclement weather can place excessive stress on the awning’s structure, leading to unnecessary wear or failure.
To ensure longevity and maintain optimal performance, users should follow proper operation guidelines and regularly inspect the awning for signs of wear and tear. Please note: any damage resulting from wind or rain is not covered under warranty, so taking precautionary measures to protect the awning is essential for maintaining its condition over time.

To operate the awning locate the awning switch (Figure 10-2):
To OPEN the awning:
• Press and release the “OUT” switch to fully open the awning.
• To pause while it's moving, press and release the “STOP” switch.
To CLOSE the awning:
• Press and release the “IN” switch to fully retract the awning.
• To pause while retracting, press and release the “STOP” switch.
To control the LED light:
• Press the “ON” switch to turn the light on.
• Press the “OFF” switch to turn the light off.

The Girard awning has a manual override to close the awning in case of power failures.
Retracting the awning in the instance of power failure (Figure 10-3):
To use the manual override:
1. Remove the endcap opposite the motor by unscrewing the 3 Philips head screws.
2. Use a 13mm wrench to turn the square manual override shaft to close the awning. Note: The manual override is one-way and can only be used to close the awning.
3. Replace the endcap using the 3 Philips head screws.

• The accompanying figure shows a right-hand motor version of the awning. For a left-hand motor version, the manual override will be on the opposite side.
• Once power is restored, the awning will resume normal operation.

Vents:

The Tiffin GT Series is equipped with exhaust vents and custom-made vent covers (Figure 10-4), designed to maintain optimal airflow while enhancing the vehicle’s luxurious aesthetic. These premium vent covers seamlessly integrate with the van’s sleek design, ensuring both functionality and style. The exhaust vent controls are conveniently located within the Spyder Multiplex System, allowing users to adjust ventilation settings effortlessly for improved air circulation and comfort. This advanced system ensures a refined and modern travel experience while keeping the interior fresh and well-ventilated.

Doors:

To open or close the electric sliding door on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis from the inside, simply press the door switch located on the dashboard (Figure 10-5) or near the sliding door itself (Figure 10-6). The system is designed to automatically slide open or close once activated. With a remote key fob, you can also press the designated button to operate the door remotely. For manual override, gently pull the handle to disengage the motor and slide the door open or closed manually.
