Proper use of the Leveling System during storage

When it’s time to store your motorhome, proper use of the leveling system can help preserve your vehicle and ensure it’s ready to go when you are.

Why Leveling Matters During Storage

Using the leveling system while in storage helps:

  • Prevent tire flat-spotting, which occurs when tires sit in one position for an extended period.

  • Reduce strain on suspension components like springs and shocks.

  • Improve overall stability and safety of the motorhome while it’s stationary.

Important Storage Tips

  • Do NOT fully lift the tires off the ground.
Your tires should remain lightly touching the surface. This prevents:

    • Unnecessary strain on the leveling system.

    • Potential stress or misalignment of components.

  • Use tire covers to shield your tires from sunlight.
    Prolonged UV exposure can cause:

    • Cracking in sidewalls.

    • Premature aging and dry rot.

Summary Checklist

  • ☑️ Use the leveling system to keep the RV level.

  • ☑️ Ensure tires make light contact with the ground.

  • ☑️ Cover tires to protect from UV damage.

Storing your motorhome the right way extends its life and reduces maintenance headaches down the road.
